How to choose the best Odoo service provider in Pakistan

Seven checks to make before you sign with any Odoo company or agency in Pakistan.

Odoo can run your whole business, but only if it is set up well. Most failed Odoo projects in Pakistan fail because of the partner, not the software. These are the checks we suggest before you sign with any Odoo service provider, including us.

1. Ask for live projects you can verify

A good Odoo company can name clients, cities and industries, and show what it built for each. Be careful with portfolios that only show screenshots of standard Odoo.

2. Get a fixed price in writing

Hourly billing with no ceiling is the most common reason Odoo budgets double. Ask for a fixed price per package or per module, and for what is excluded, such as Odoo Enterprise licence fees and servers.

3. Check who does the functional work

Odoo touches accounting, stock and payroll. The consultant who maps your process should understand debits and credits, stock valuation and Pakistani tax, not only Python.

4. Ask how custom modules are written

Custom code should follow Odoo's own guidelines so it survives upgrades. Ask which Odoo versions the team works on and whether you receive the source code.

5. Look at the go-live plan

Data migration, opening balances, user training and a parallel run decide whether your team actually uses Odoo. Ask to see the go-live checklist before the project starts.

6. Confirm support after launch

The first months after go-live bring the most questions. Make sure there is a monthly support plan with a clear price and response time.

7. Make sure you own everything

You should hold the admin login, the database and the source code of any custom module. Avoid any arrangement where only the vendor can access your system.
